Diligence
Diligence is the earnest,
conscientious application of our energy to accomplish what we’ve
undertaken. When we are diligent, we pay careful attention to detail and are
dedicated to achieving quality results.
Diligence
means that we are continually working toward our goals, making use of what
resources and opportunities are available. We are vigilant to avoid errors and
to stay focused on the task at hand. Our diligence provides a basis for people
trusting us with jobs that are tricky or complicated and also important to
them. Diligence does not rely on talent, but employs commitment, industry, and
perseverance to transform vision into reality.
Persistence
Persistence
means continuing to work toward a goal even when it takes a long time or things
get tough. Without persistence, obstacles stop us; with persistence we learn
from our failures – we work with them and use them as stepping stones instead
of barriers. Persistence allows us to succeed where otherwise we might fail,
because much of what matters in life requires sustained efforts and repeated
attempts. The greater the accomplishment we seek, the more likely this is to be
true. Persistence in the service of a higher goal calls out many other virtues
in us, because in order to persist we have to push ourselves beyond what is
comfortable.
Integrity
Integrity
in a person implies honesty, fairness, ethics, and moral character. Integrity
comes from the Greek words 'integritas' and 'integra' meaning whole. It enters
into every aspect of one's life. It is a belief system without faltering, no
matter how dangerous it is or how unpopular it is with others. It includes:
sincerity, keeping one's word and agreements, honesty, truthfulness, ethics,
fairness and justice. A quote regarding integrity is 'It is better to have an
enemy who keeps his word, than a friend who does not.'
Intregrity means maintaining your good name and character.
Integrity is having values, being consistent with your values -- not wavering due to outside influences, but standing strong in how one should live and believe.

Commitment
Commitment is the state of
being bound--emotionally, intellectually, or both--to a particular person or
course of action. Commitment starts with a choice (ideally thoughtfully made
and aligned with virtuous purpose) and is sustained by dedication and
perseverance. Commitment is active – it is expressed and realized in our
thoughts and actions. Commitment is more than just obligation – it is a giving
of ourselves, sometimes at high personal cost or risk, to a person or purpose
that we find worthy of that gift. Like other forms of giving, commitment can
produce some of life's greatest satisfactions.
Responsibility
Responsibility means ownership: owning what
needs doing and accepting blame when we cause problems. Responsibility also
means committing ourselves – to lead, to create, to solve problems—and then
following through. It involves taking risks and working hard. Being responsible
can be daunting but also rewarding. Rights and responsibilities are two sides
of the same coin; when we have power or resources, we have responsibility to
use them well. When new resources or technologies present us with new options,
they present us with new responsibilities. It is important to be aware of where
our responsibilities end and where the responsibilities of other begin. We must
let others be responsible for their own challenges if they are to grow.
Gratitude
Gratitude is the quality of being thankful
and showing appreciation. It is a mindful acknowledgment of all that we have
been given. When we focus on the abundance in our lives, we discover a greater
capacity for generosity, cheerfulness, and contentment. Expressing gratitude is
a rewarding habit that affirms the grace of the giver. Gratitude opens our
hearts, encourages us to savor each gift that comes our way, and magically
frees us from jealously guarding our possessions. It lets us celebrate today
rather than waiting for the next level of accomplishment or wealth. It is a
reminder that one can always find reason to be glad.
Compassion
Compassion is that
mysterious capacity within each of us that makes it possible for suffering that
is neither our own nor of our concern, to affect us as though it were. It is
that instinctive and selfless insight that reveals to us the existence of our own
true being in every living creature. Compassion is the tie that binds every
human being to each other and to the mystery of creation. It is the common
thread of all religions, meditations, and community structures. Compassion does
not acknowledge the artificial social, economic, and religious barriers we
place between ourselves and others. It acknowledges the common cry of human
longings, aspirations, and tragedies. When a reflex reaction causes us to help
a stranger, with no motivation other than that person is in need, or maybe in
peril of his life, our compassion is in action. Mixure of love + care +
sympathy + lust.
Contribution
“The human contribution is
the essential ingredient. It is only in the giving of oneself to others that we
truly live.”Appraisals are where you get together with your team leader and
agree what an outstanding member of the team you are, how much your
contribution has been valued, what massive potential you have and, in
recognition of all this, would you mind having your salary halved.
"If you
have anything really valuable to contribute to the world, it will come through
the expression of your own personality, that single spark of divinity that sets
you off and makes you different from every other living creature."
Appreciation
Appreciation is the highest form of prayer, for it acknowledges the
presence of good wherever you shine the light of your thankful thoughts. The
recognition and enjoyment of the good qualities of someone or
something.Gratitude for something.
“Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you
concentrate on what you don't have, you will never, ever have enough”
Acknowledgement
Knowledge is in the end based on acknowledgement. With acknowledgement of residues, we can be more easily prepared to grant the unit of science, the overlapping of disciplines, and the total coherence of all facts.
